Hello friends!<\/p>\n

I’m back with another project for my Altenew Educator Program today. \u00a0My most recent course – “Let it Shine!” – \u00a0taught me various techniques to add shine, glimmer, glamour, and bling to my cards, and I’m happy to say I think I got maximum shine-age on this Mothers’ Day card.<\/p>\n

To make this card, I started out with silver foil alcohol ink cardstock<\/a> from Tim Holtz. \u00a0I used pinks, yellows, and orange alcohol inks and some blending solution to create a beautiful background. I even amped up the bling factor with a little sprinkle of loose silver glitter on the tacky alcohol ink.<\/p>\n

The whole background, even the colored portion, ends up with a beautiful reflective sheen, but to reveal a little bit of that true silver, I turned to my new Alcohol Lift Ink <\/a>pad.<\/p>\n

I stamped an outline floral image from the Wonderland stamp set<\/a> onto the dried panel. \u00a0I blotted and then buffed the stamped image to magically lift off the alcohol ink and reveal the silver cardstock underneath. With the help of my MISTI<\/a>, I could repeat the process a few times to get really nice contrast.<\/p>\n

Once I was happy with the image, I trimmed the inked panel down to a square and matted it with pink cardstock.<\/p>\n

For the card base, I added a bit of texture and interest to the background with a woodgrain embossing folder<\/a>. I also stamped “Happy Mother’s Day” (from the Extra Special stamp set<\/a>) on the inside of the card.<\/p>\n
