Hello friends! \u00a0My next card for the AECP program<\/a> is a submission for the Seasonal Scene Building<\/a> course. \u00a0We were challenged to create a one layer card with multiple stamps using masking.<\/p>\n

My card features lots of separate floral elements from the Blooming Bouquet<\/a> stamp set, but not the actual bouquet! \u00a0To create the design, I stamped all the pieces first on scratch paper, not caring where they overlapped and not bothering to mask… this would just serve as a positioning guide for when I started my actual project. \u00a0Once I got the arrangement just right, then I could identify which images were in the forefront so I could stamp them first.<\/p>\n

I used my MISTI<\/a> to stamp each layer, first lining it up on my guide sheet, then picking up the stamp with the MISTI door, then stamping onto my actual project. \u00a0After each image I would add a mask before stamping the images that would lay behind it. \u00a0Here you can see the process partially complete.<\/p>\n

I used a ton of images and a LOT of tiny hand-cut masks for this card, so it did end up taking me a while. \u00a0But the good news is, I can save all those masks for a future project – I just stick them on the inside of the stamp packing. \u00a0I used Gina K Masking Magic<\/a> to create all my masks, which I really love because it is super thin and easy to cut and doesn’t leave a halo around masked images.<\/p>\n

After a LOT of stamping and masking, I finally arrived at my completed scene: \u00a0two vases with a whole cluster of flowers and leaves coming out.<\/p>\n

I made a few mistakes but I don’t think they stood out too bad, so I just went with it. \u00a0Also, if you have any gaps in your stamping like I do, you can just touch things up with a black pen (make sure to use one that will be safe with your coloring medium!)<\/p>\n

Then I got to work on my coloring. \u00a0I used alcohol markers for this: a combination of my copics, Spectrum Noir and some of my new Artist Markers<\/a> that I picked up from Altenew.<\/p>\n

After coloring everything in, I drew in some stems (not sure if I would do that again, but it was too late to worry about it!) and added some black paint splatters and a little shadow under the vases to ground them.<\/p>\n

\"IMG_6027.jpeg\"For the sentiment I stamped “Hello” from the same stamp set in Versafine Onyx Black ink<\/a> and heat embossed it to give it dimension and shine and make it pop from the scene behind it. Finally, I adhered the whole panel to a black A2 card base leaving a border all around.\"IMG_6025.jpeg\"<\/p>\n
