Rainbow Thanks

Hi friends!

I’m back today with a project for the Celebration: Stencil Techniques course at Altenew Academy.  I hadn’t pulled out my embossing paste in ages so I wanted to use that technique in this bright, fun Thank You card.

I blended a rainbow of distress inks onto an A2 cardstock panel using mini ink blending tools.

Then I wanted to create some background texture with the Halftone Stencil from Altenew and embossing paste.  I covered most of the panel with embossing paste but faded out the paste toward the bottom left corner of my card. The paste starts out bright white, but once it dries, it takes on some of the ink underneath so it will have a much more subtle effect.

I created a thin Sentiment strip using the Label Love stamp set and a simple white silhouette leaf die cut from my stash.  I arranged these on the card front with foam tape for dimension.  I trimmed 1/4″ off each side of the rainbow panel and added thin black strips of cardstock to tie into the black sentiment strip. Finally I added some sequins for bling and the card was complete!

I love making cards like this that are perfect for any recipient – I keep them on hand so they are quick to grab when an occasion arises to express my handmade gratitude!

Thanks for stopping by today… see you soon 🙂

Tricia
