I am super excited to have been accepted into the Altenew Educator Certification Program! While I haven’t posted many of my card projects, I have long enjoyed this form of paper crafting and have made hundreds of cards over the years. This program will be an awesome opportunity to enhance my skills, learn new techniques, and work toward my goal of teaching both live and virtual workshops.
There are 3 levels to the program, with several courses to complete in each level and several lessons in each course. One of my first courses in level 1 is “Clean & Simple Boutique Cards”. The first lesson encouraged us to make a simple one layer card with minimal supplies, leaving white space, and using very simple styling.
This card uses nothing but beautiful white cardstock, stamps and ink. It doesn’t get any simpler than that! I think this would be a lovely card to give to someone going through a rough time, or maybe as a “miss you” card…
The floral images come from Altenew’s Wonderland Stamp Set and the vase and sentiment are from Versatile Vases. The Wonderland set has only outline images (no solid layering images), so I got creative to add a little color – I searched through my stash and found some solid stamps that were roughly the same shape and stamped them over the black outlines. (I used a solid floral from Vintage Roses). I think the fact that they don’t match up exactly adds to the beauty of the card and gives it a painterly look.
I’ll be sharing more of my homework projects from the AECP as I work my way through the courses so stay tuned for more cardmaking posts!
Have a terrific day!

Tricia
