Hi crafty friends! I have another card to share today. Next time I make one, I will try to film a process video!
Altenew Academy offers a few classes for FREE (you don’t have to be in the Educator Program – anyone can sign up!) – one series is called “All About Layering” and it walks through tips and tricks for layering their beautiful multi-step stamps. Even if you don’t have their stamps, they offer great tips for lining up layered images to get the best results and provide awesome inspiration for composition, card design, and color combinations.
Here’s a look at one project I created during the class. I used the Layered Lily stamp set to stamp these beautiful florals and I love how they turned out. I chose various shades of orange from the Goldfish Tails set of mini Crisp Dye Inks, and some green inks that I have in my stash.
I created an ombre striped background panel in navy ink using a stencil and ink blending tool, then stamped a sentiment from the Beautiful Day stamp set – also in navy ink. I arranged the flowers and leaves in a cluster and adhered them – some with dimensional foam adhesive and some with liquid glue flat on the card. I backed this panel with a piece of navy cardstock so that a little bit peeked out on either side and then adhered the whole thing to a standard A2 card base.
I have always marveled at how realistic the layered images look with just simple stamping – they make your cards look so special!
I’ll be back soon with another card or planner page!

Tricia
