Easy Stamped Background

Hi everyone, I’m back with another card today.  This time my assignment was to create a simple card with a stamped background.  It produces such a cool result, like you’ve created your own custom patterned paper!

For this card, I used some of the “secondary” images from the Beautiful Day stamp set.  I stamped the images repeatedly on the background panel, making sure that images hung off the edge of the page.  These bunches of leaves, florals, and berries are outline images only… so to add a bit of color, I added very loose watercolor using distress inks and a water brush. For a simple sentiment I chose a hello die cut from my stash and stacked up several layers to create dimension.  I offset some of the white layers behind so they peeked out from behind the lilac top layer. Here you can see a close up of the loose watercoloring and the offset sentiment layers.

The finished panel was mounted on a piece of matching lilac cardstock and then adhered to a landscape A2 card base.  I think it is a lovely, simple, all purpose card that anyone would love to receive!
